Micron-Diameter Metal Fiber Products

MicroLobal™ Fibers are fabricated with a special process that results in an irregular cross section and multiple lobed sides to increase overall surface area for a given fiber diameter rating. Depending on the application, the increase in surface area can range from 30% to 400%. This means that, compared with conventional circular cross-section fibers of equivalent diameter, MicroLobal™ Fibers can offer smaller pore size for better filtration, wet-lay ups with thinner cross-sections for manufacturing, and better electro-magnetic shielding.

Available in a variety of alloys and formats

Fabricated from the finest commercial and research alloys, MicroLobal™ Fibers are available in a variety of formats, including continuous tow, yarn or chopped in lengths as small as 0.2 millimeter. Shorter lengths are available on a "best efforts" basis. We offer a variety of stock diameters ranging from 1.5 to 30 micrometers.
